Our 6R80 Updates and Upgrades

► Remanufactured pump, with new line bore bushings to eliminate leaks and provide superior flow and durability.
► Wear-prone rear stator bushing completely replaced to prevent failure of the E clutch.
► Remanufactured valve body, with complete system correction and recalibration kit, improves pressure control and shift quality. Each valve body is remanufactured and vacuum tested to verify hydraulic control. All wear-prone valves in the completely remanufactured valve body are restored to stringent specifications and vacuum tested to verify proper function.
► Valve body accumulator dampers are replaced to combat known deterioration of the OE component.
► Fully remanufactured torque converter is tested for leaks, lock-up, concentricity, and balance. Upgrades exceed OE requirements and eliminate the possibility of front seal leaks, premature bushing wear, and vibration.
► Build specifications are checked by four different specialized technicians during the remanufacturing process to verify the correct application.
► All new, bushings installed in key locations to improve internal fluid flow control and fluid pressures.
► Complete system correction and recalibration kit installed to address several OE flaws. Modifications include updates to servos, the PR system, and valve body accumulators.
► Heavy-duty recalibration kit installed to reduce slippage and increase durability.
► Complete road simulation using a dynamometer testing program called C.A.R.S. (Computer Aided Road Simulation). Every transmission is cold and hot tested while using a custom-blended fully synthetic automatic transmission fluid, and filtration system.

6R80 Vehicle Applications

How Many Variations of the 6R80?

There are many different variations (so we have over 60 different part numbers!). Each one for a different engine size (bellhousing) and varying electronic and solenoid systems for different years.

Only certain models will interchange with others, which is why we ask for your 17-digit VIN# when you order so we are 100% sure it is the matching unit for your vehicle!

Remanufactured 6R80 vs. Rebuilt or Used

Reman 6R80 vs. Rebuilt 6R80?
Both are good options but the best option for you depends on the transmission problem, the year, make and model of vehicle, the mileage and the vehicle value. What kind of warranty coverage are you looking for? Remanufactured transmissions carry a longer, 3 year, nationwide warranty with additional upgrades while a rebuilt unit generally carries up to a 1 or 2 year warranty and upgrades vary from shop to shop.
Reman 6R80 vs. Used 6R80?
Buying a used 6F50 transmission may save you money. However, if the unit does not work properly after installed, you will more than likely have to pay the labor again for removal and reinstall of the transmission PLUS the freight to ship the transmission back to the salvage yard. The additional cost may be higher than installing a reman or rebuilt transmission–not to mention the extra downtime. Warranties for a used transmission is only 30 days, 60 days, 90 days or 6 months. Used transmissions, since there is no way to know how many miles are on them, may fail at any time.
