The Street Smart Transmission Solution
Most remanufactured valve bodies are built one at a time, or in small batches. In some cases, this type of valve body can last for a long time. However, it’s not uncommon to experience problems due to poor quality control, or overlooked problems with the core on which the reman valve body is based.
Street Smart Transmission on the other hand, doesn’t do small batches. We carry multiple variations of over 200 transmission families, and we have that remanufactured 5R110W valve body already wrapped up and ready to ship. But we don’t just crank them out in some haphazard manner.
The engineers in our R&D department had to first develop ways to correct the inherent design flaws that were causing early 5R110W solenoid failure and overheating. So each SST reman 5R110W valve body is modified to improve fluid pressure control, and each solenoid is bench tested prior to installation. The valves and bores get upgraded as well, and multiple quality inspections are performed throughout the build.
Once the remanufactured 5R110W valve body is complete, it’s bench tested using an Superflow AXILINE Valve Body Tester. This state of the art machine is able to simulate real-world driving conditions, which allows our technicians to accurately tune the shift points and PR system.
