Our 4T65E Updates and Upgrades
► Fully remanufactured valve body, with updated TCC Control Valve, TCC Regulator Apply Valve, Torque Signal Regulator Valve, and Reverse Boost Valve, improves shifting, lubrication, and performance.
► Completely remanufactured pump, including replacement of slide pivot pin, provides consistent internal pressures, eliminates pump slide malfunction, and eliminates slipping and/or delayed engagement.
► Pump driveshaft seal updated to solid Teflon seal for prevention of torque converter lockup, slip, and chatter.
► Thoroughly inspected Input clutch housing thrust bearing assures proper endplay and eliminates noisy operation.
► Updated 4th clutch shaft prevents loss of 4th gear due to stripped splines.
► New EPC solenoid assures proper line pressure control and shift feel.
► Updated Actuator Feed Limit Valve assures proper solenoid pressure feed.
► Clutch clearances set to custom-spec standards for improved shift feel and timing.
► Fully remanufactured torque converter is tested for leaks, lock-up, concentricity, and balance. Upgrades exceed OE requirements and eliminate the possibilities of front seal leaks, premature bushing wear, and vibration.
► Thoroughly inspected torque converter support bearing to prevent sleeve failure.
► Bushings and machined surfaces polished to a mirror-like OE finish of 15 RA or less.
► Tru-Flat qualification process applied to transmission case, valve body, pump, and channel plate prevent cross leaks and pressure losses
► All-new custom-spec bushings to improve internal fluid flow control and pressures.
► Complete system correction and recalibration kit installed to address several OE flaws, reduce slippage and increase durability. Modifications include updates to servos, the PR system, and valve body accumulators.
► Complete road simulation using a dynamometer testing program called C.A.R.S. (Computer Aided Road Simulation). Every transmission is cold and hot tested before shipment.

4T65E / 4T65E-HD History
The 4T60E/4T65E/4T65E-HD is a series of automatic transmissions from General Motors. Designed for transverse engine configurations, the series includes 4 forward gears. The 4Txx family is an evolution of the original Turbo-Hydramatic 125 transverse automatic introduced in the late 1970s.
The “-E” transmission is electronically controlled and features an automatic overdrive transaxle with an electronically controlled torque converter clutch.
The 4T65 was built at Warren Transmission in Warren, Michigan.
The 4T65-E was introduced to replace the 4T60-E in 1997. The 4T65-E included a larger 258 mm torque converter for some models and many other changes to improve reliability. It is able to handle vehicles up to 6500 lb (2948 kg) GVWR with up to 280 ft·lbf (380 N·m) of torque. A number of final drive ratios are available, with many distinct models.
Starting in mid year 2000 models, all 4T65-E models received an upgraded valve body. Starting in 2003 the internal electronics were changed, hardened 4th gear shaft, ratcheting sprags for input and third gear were added. The last application was the 2011 Chevrolet Impala as GM has transitioned to the 6T70 family transmissions for 2012.
